It’s all about you, isn’t it..?
Afraid so.
My name is Alan Larkin. I am a specialist family law solicitor and this is my Blog about the sometimes confusing and complicated issues that can arise upon divorce or separation for married couples, civil partners and co-habitees. I have tried in this blog to provide some general guidance and tips for people who find themselves struggling to fund access to family legal advice or, having paid for it, are still confused by what it really means for them.
If you are looking around the web for help on family law matters you will already have encountered plenty of sites of limited value, containing outdated or dubious information. (I certainly did, which is what prompted me to start this blog). Over the past several years I have devoted more of my time to developing a technology solution to help family lawyers and their clients especially since the withdrawal of most legal aid for family work.
So how do you know if this website is any good? Well, I like to think I know what I’m talking about but don’t take my word for it…
What others say about me
Independent legal directories like Chambers UK which very kindly ranks me as one of the top lawyers in the South-East of England, says::
“Alan Larkin’s practice covers both complex ancillary relief and children matters. Observers report: “He is down to earth and a pragmatist. He is client-focused and even in litigation works hard to settle the case”
My clients and professional contacts have been good enough to recommend me:
“Alan has the ability to understand even the most intricate cases and the rare gift of putting his clients at ease and being able to explain the intricacies of the law in plain English”
“Alan is a hugely well-respected family lawyer both with clients and professionals”
“My experience of Alan is that he is not only highly committed to achieving success for his clients, he is passionate about his work and the people whom he represents”
However, in the interests of balance, my mother reports that I am a very naughty boy.
The day job
My day job is with a specialist firm of family law solicitors in Brighton.
My night job is creating AI to make expert legal advice more affordable.
